Australian fast bowler Josh Hazlewood is likely to rejoin Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) as the Indian Premier League 2025 resumes on May 17. Hazlewood, like many other overseas players, had returned to Australia after the league was paused for a week due to cross-border tensions. But now, reports suggest he is expected to return soon and be available for the rest of the season.
Josh Hazlewood’s Strong Comeback After One Year

After missing the last season, Hazlewood returned to IPL 2025 with great impact. He has picked up 18 wickets in just 10 matches, making him the top wicket-taker for RCB this season. His accurate bowling and experience have helped RCB in many close games.
However, he was absent from the team’s last match against Chennai Super Kings due to a small shoulder injury. South African bowler Lungi Ngidi replaced him in that game.
There were rumors that Hazlewood might miss the rest of the season due to the injury. But according to a fresh update from Hindustan Times’ Vishesh Roy, the pacer is expected to return to the RCB squad soon. The exact date of his arrival is still unknown, but fans can expect to see him back on the field shortly.
RCB’s 1st title win dream Still Alive

Royal Challengers Bengaluru have had a strong campaign this year. They have won 8 out of 11 matches so far and sit second on the IPL 2025 points table with 16 points and a net run rate of 0.482. They are now just one win away from sealing a place in the playoffs.
RCB’s form at their home ground, M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, was poor at the beginning. They lost their first three games there. But they bounced back and have now won their last two home matches. On the road, they have been unbeatable, winning all six away games.
RCB will resume their IPL 2025 journey with a home game against Kolkata Knight Riders on Saturday, May 17. With Hazlewood possibly returning, the bowling attack will receive a big boost. His pace and control will be key as RCB looks to finish strong and aim for the title.
