
The Bangladesh men’s cricket team will travel to Sri Lanka in June and July 2025 for a full tour. The tour will include 2 Test matches, 3 One Day Internationals (ODIs), and 3 T20 Internationals (T20Is). This series will also mark the start of the new ICC World Test Championship for both teams.
The tour is expected to be action-packed as both sides will look to start fresh in the Test format and fine-tune their squads in white-ball formats before major global tournaments.
Tour Highlights and Key Details
The tour begins on June 13, when the Baangladesh team lands in Sri Lanka. This will be one of their most important away assignments of the year.
Test Series (WTC 2025-2027 Begins)
- 1st Test: June 17–21 in Galle
- 2nd Test: June 25–29 in Colombo
These matches will be part of the new World Test Championship cycle. Both Bangladesh and Sri Lanka will be aiming for a strong start in the red-ball format.
ODI Series
- 1st ODI: July 2 in Colombo
- 2nd ODI: July 5 in Colombo
- 3rd ODI: July 8 in Pallekele
This ODI series will help both teams prepare for future white-ball tournaments. Playing in Sri Lankan conditions will test Bangladesh’s batting and bowling depth.
T20I Series
- 1st T20I: July 10 in Pallekele
- 2nd T20I: July 13 in Dambulla
- 3rd T20I: July 16 in Colombo
The three-match T20I series will be the final leg of the tour. With Litton Das recently appointed as Bangladesh’s new T20 captain, all eyes will be on how he leads the side, especially with young players coming in.
Bangladesh’s Busy Schedule Ahead
Before heading to Sri Lanka, Bangladesh will have a packed T20I schedule. They’ll first play two T20Is in the UAE, then travel to Pakistan for five T20Is. These matches will help the team gear up for the Sri Lanka tour and work on team combinations.
