The IPL 2025 season has been full of surprises. All the IPL teams have played hard, but some just couldn’t make the way to reach the top. Only four teams can qualify for the IPL playoffs. As the tournament moves forward to its last chapter, three teams have already been eliminated. It’s been tough for them.
Three Teams That Won’t Make the Playoffs IPL 2025
Chennai Super Kings (CSK)
CSK was the first team out. They lost to Punjab Kings in a must-win match. They were bowled out for 190, thanks to a hat-trick from Yuzvendra Chahal. Sam Curran tried, scoring 88 runs, but it wasn’t enough. CSK had only four points from their first ten matches. Even if they won every remaining match, they would still end up with 12 points. And that’s not enough to reach the playoffs.
Rajasthan Royals (RR)
Rajasthan Royals were next. They lost heavily to Mumbai Indians in their home game. They allowed 217/2 after choosing to field first. In reply, they could only manage 117 runs. A huge 100-run loss. With just six points from eleven games, they were done. Even if they won their last three matches, they still wouldn’t have enough points for the playoffs.
Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH)
Then, there’s Sunrisers Hyderabad. They were in a must-win situation against Delhi Capitals, but rain had other plans. The game was washed out. They earned just one point. They still had three games left, but even if they won them all, they’d end up with 13 points. That wouldn’t be enough for the playoffs either. Too bad.
CSK, RR, and Sunrisers Hyderabad are now officially out of the IPL 2025 race. Only the best can advance to the IPL final stages due to the intense competition. These groups are only able to anticipate, reorganize and make plans for the future. Everything is still up for grabs for the remaining teams.
There will be fierce competition for the top four spots in the IPL 2025 final, which is only eighteen matches away. Those who are still in the running must maintain their attention since each game becomes more important than the last. Any mistake could cost the squad their chance to advance to the IPL final. As the anticipation builds and they hope their side makes it to the last four, fans will surely be on the edge of their seats.
Even if the eliminated IPL teams’ journey is over, there is always drama in the league. You can be certain that these clubs will return stronger and seek for a better showing the next season because there is always next year. The playoff race is still going on, and anyone can win. Who is going to make it? Time will tell.
