IPL 2025: RCB vs RR – A Clash of Contrasting Campaigns

This will be the ninth match of the IPL 2025 season for both Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Rajasthan Royals (RR). So far, their seasons have been very different. RCB have done well, winning five matches, while RR have struggled, losing six games.

RCB, led by Rajat Patidar, has looked strong overall. Both their batting and bowling have been performing well, and the team seems well-balanced.

But one big problem for RCB has been their poor record at home – they haven’t won a single home game yet this season. A big reason for this is their spinners, who haven’t done well in Bengaluru. In 15 overs at home, they’ve taken just one wicket, with a high average of 144 and an economy rate of 9.6. When playing away, they’ve done much better, taking 15 wickets with an average of 35.1 and an economy of 8.5.

Still, RCB is a strong team, and they have a good chance to break their home losing streak against a struggling and low-on-confidence Rajasthan Royals side.

Rajasthan Royals are having a tough time, losing their last four matches. They’re also missing their captain, Sanju Samson, and recently lost two close games, falling short of 9 runs in the final over against both Delhi Capitals and Lucknow Super Giants.

Toss Update: RR Opt to Bowl First on Sticky Pitch

RR is still trying to find the right team combination. If they don’t figure it out soon, their chances of making the playoffs will disappear.

In head-to-head matches, RCB has a slight edge over RR, winning 16 games compared to RR’s 14.

At the toss, Rajasthan Royals captain Riyan Parag mentioned that the pitch feels a bit sticky. He said, “We will bowl first. The wicket looks a bit sticky and should get better later on.”

Meanwhile, RCB captain Rajat Patidar, who was seen praying before the toss, said they also wanted to bowl first. He said, “We would have loved to bowl first as well.”
