SRH vs MI, IPL 2025: Pat Cummins’ Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) are taking on Hardik Pandya’s Mumbai Indians (MI) in the reverse IPL 2025 fixture on Wednesday, April 23, at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad.
Both teams have announced their Impact Player list for Match 41 of the season.

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) are having a tough season and are in 9th place. Mumbai Indians (MI) are doing better and are in 6th place. SRH has been playing with a very aggressive style, but it hasn’t worked this year. Last season, this style helped them reach close to the title, but now it’s causing problems.
SRH’s batters like Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma are not scoring runs often. Other batters like Nitish Kumar Reddy, Ishan Kishan, and Heinrich Klaasen are also not doing well. Their bowling is weak too. Fast bowlers have poor numbers, and the spinners have taken only 7 wickets and are giving away too many runs.
On the other hand, MI had a slow start but is now doing well. They lost 4 of their first 5 games, but have now won 3 in a row. The batters are performing better, and Rohit Sharma is back in form. Jasprit Bumrah is bowling well again after his injury. Trent Boult and Deepak Chahar are also doing okay.
In past matches, MI has done better than SRH. Out of all games, MI have won 14 and SRH have won 10. In the last 10 games between them, MI has won 7.

At the toss, Hardik Pandya confirmed a change in the playing XI, announcing the return of Vignesh Puthur in place of Ashwani Kumar. He also took a moment to express sympathy for the victims of the recent Pahalgam terrorist attack. He said:
“Feels good (on the applause). I would like to firstly pass my condolences to the victims of the terrorist attack.”
On the other side, Pat Cummins shared that their team has also made a change, with Jaydev Unadkat coming in for Mohammed Shami. He stated:
“One change for us – Jaydev comes in, Shami goes out to the impact player list.”
