It all happened on Tuesday, April 22, during Multan Sultans’ match against Lahore Qalandars. The match was played in Multan, and the crowd was loud and excited. In the 15th over, Ubaid Shah took a big wicket. He got Sam Billings out, who had already smashed 43 runs off just 23 balls.
After the wicket, Ubaid couldn’t control his emotions. He ran toward wicketkeeper Usman Khan to give a high-five, but instead of a smooth slap of hands, his hand hit Usman right on the head. Usman looked a bit shocked and maybe even in pain. But it was all unintentional, and the moment quickly became a talking point among fans.
Two Sixes, Then Sweet Revenge
Earlier in the same over, Sam Billings had hit Ubaid Shah for two big sixes. So, when Ubaid finally got his wicket, it felt like sweet revenge. His over had a rollercoaster of emotions, and that may have led to his strong reaction.
These emotional moments are what fans love in the PSL. They show the fire, the passion and sometimes, a bit of accidental comedy too!
Ubaid Shah Shines with the Ball
It wasn’t just the funny moment that made Ubaid stand out. He was also brilliant with the ball. Ubaid ended the match with three wickets getting Billings, Fakhar Zaman, and Daryl Mitchell. He bowled four overs and gave away 37 runs. Right now, he’s Multan Sultans’ top wicket-taker with six wickets in just three games.
His bowling might be fiery, but maybe next time he’ll celebrate a little more gently!
Multan Sultans Score First Win in PSL 2025
The win was a big relief for Multan Sultans. They were stuck at the bottom of the points table and had lost their first three games. But against Lahore Qalandars, they turned it around.
Batting first, they put up a huge total 229 runs. Yasir Khan played a gem of an innings, scoring 87 runs off just 44 balls. He was rightly named Player of the Match for his explosive knock.
Lahore tried to chase but fell short by 33 runs. Multan’s bowlers, led by Ubaid, made sure the target stayed out of reach.
