Vaibhav Suryavanshi is one of the young talents coming from Bihar. Vaibhav credits most of his success to his father, Sanjeev Suryavanshi. He hails from Samastipur, some 100 kilometers from Patna. Vaibhav is one of the three brothers, with one elder and one younger. Ironically, while both brothers don’t share his interest in cricket, the sport is running in his blood. His father gifted this game to him.
During an interview with Vaibhav, talking about his cricketing life, he had said this: “My father too played cricket but could never make it to the big league. He always had a dream that one among his sons should take it up.” In his formative years, his dad was his first coach during his cricketing days in Samastipur.
Whenever Vaibhav felt like training, his father used to take time off work and drive him to Patna for better facilities; he would stay with Vaibhav during those sessions. However, realizing the underprivileged conditions in Samastipur, his father realized that Vaibhav should be sent to Patna, where he started growing as a cricketer under the guidance of coaches Manas Jha and Robin Singh.
