Every major cricket tournament on the international level sees the New Zealand Cricket team arrive as underdogs and go on to shock some of the biggest names in the tour. The Kiwis, who won the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in 2021, will try to win it all this time in Australia under the leadership of Kane Williamson again.
Williamson continues to be one of the most motivating captains in international cricket, and after leading the Kiwis to the ICC World Test Championship earlier this year, he would like to win what would be New Zealand’s first T20 World Cup championship. Lockie Ferguson, Michael Bracewell, and Finn Allen have replaced Kyle Jamieson, Todd Astle, and Tim Seifert, respectively, on the Kiwis’ roster from the team that competed in last year’s final.
Martin Guptill, Devon Conway, Kane Williamson, and Daryl Mitchell make up New Zealand’s potent batting order. They also have three top-notch pacers in Tim Southee, Trent Boult, and Lockie Ferguson. It already appears to be one of the finest pace attacks in the tournament before Adam Milne is added.
