South Africa will play as a part of the group winners of the T20 World Cup at the Bellerive Oval in Hobart. South Africa will first face Bangladesh in Group 2 before facing India. The final two games for Temba Bavuma’s team will be against Pakistan at the historic Sydney Cricket Ground and the Group A losers at the Adelaide Oval.
In the three-match T20I series, India defeated South Africa by a score of 2-1. In the second game, David Miller got a century for the Proteas, while in the series’ final game; Rilee Rossouw hit his maiden T20I century. The 2021 T20 World Cup saw South Africa perform admirably. Their best accomplishments at previous men’s T20 World Cups were semi-final appearances in 2009 and 2014, which were their worst performances.
Reeza Hendricks will not be available for the game because he was unable to recover from a finger injury, he sustained in the second Test against England. Dwaine Pretorius, who was initially selected after breaking his thumb during the T20I series against India, has also been disqualified from the competition.
