Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan Scored 152, against India in 2021

The highest partnership that has been recorded in T20 World Cup was from a recent match that was played between India and Pakistan in UAE. These arch-rivals played in the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Shahid Afridi took the wickets of all important batters of India and did not let them get a good score down. A score of 152 was a dream score and an easy target for Pakistan. Azam and Rizwan were able to chase the score within 17.5 overs and got the victory in their team’s bag.

Chris Gayle and Dwayne Smith scored 145, against South Africa in 2007

In 2007, this was the first match in the inaugural season of the T20i World Cup that was played in South Africa in Group A. Gayle and Smith smashed the bowlers of SA right from the beginning and played some excellent shots throughout the match. In just 9.4 overs, both batters put up a century on the team’s account. Before going out, both the batters gave 145 runs together and showcased exceptional performance.

Kamran Akmal and Salman Butt scored 142, against Bangladesh in 2010

In 2010, this match was the fourth one in the World Cup between Pakistan and Bangladesh. Akmal and Butt opened the innings and performed very well. The bowlers’ ineffectiveness worked in favour of the two batsmen, and they enjoyed the game immensely. Both the players added one half century to their stats and got a 100-run partnership for the team in just 11.4 overs. The partnership came to a halt at 142 when Akmal got out. The partnership ran for 15.5 overs and secured the number three position in the records.

Another important partnership is that of Gautam Gambhir and Virender Sehwag in England in 2007. The players scored 136 for team India together. There are several other exceptional partnerships that the T20 World Cup has seen during its lifetime.
