India’s ODI squad is set for an infusion of fresh talent as Shreyanka Patil, Mannat Kashyap, Saika Ishaque, and Titas Sadhu receive their maiden call-ups for the upcoming series against Australia, commencing on December 28 at the Wankhede Stadium.
Shreyanka Patil, an off-spin all-rounder, recently marked her T20I debut against England, delivering a stellar performance with five wickets, including a decisive 3-19 in the third game. Left-arm spinner Saika mirrored the success, claiming five wickets in the same series, featuring a match-winning spell of 3-22 in the last game.
Mannat Kashyap and Titas Sadhu, part of India’s U19 Women’s T20 World Cup-winning team, join the ODI squad. While Mannat, a left-arm spinner, awaits her international debut, Titas has already showcased her prowess with four wickets, contributing to the gold-medal triumph at the Asian Games in Hangzhou, China.

The return of pace spearhead Renuka Singh Thakur, after a successful comeback from a stress fracture injury, adds strength to the ODI setup. Wicketkeeper-batter Richa Ghosh, who recently made her Test debut against Australia in a victorious encounter for India, is also back in the mix.
The inclusion of these talented players means notable omissions for experienced campaigners like Rajeshwari Gayakwad, Devika Vaidya, Uma Chetry, Priya Punia, Meghna Singh, Monica Patel, Anusha Bareddy, and Rashi Kanojiya.
This ODI series against Australia holds significant importance for India as they prepare for the 2025 Women’s ODI World Cup, where they will serve as the host nation. Meanwhile, the T20I squad remains consistent, with the Neetu David-led selection committee retaining the same players who faced England.
The three-match ODI series unfolds at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai, starting on December 28, followed by matches on December 30 and January 2, 2024. The action then moves to DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai, hosting the three T20Is on January 5, 7, and 9.
