In a remarkable display of bowling prowess, the New York Strikers secured their third consecutive win in the seventh edition of Abu Dhabi T10. Defending a modest total of 98, spinners Chamika Karunaratne and Akeal Hosein starred with three wickets each, dismantling Delhi Bulls for a mere 31 runs—the lowest total in T10 history. This exceptional performance catapulted New York to the summit of the tournament table.
Karunaratne, named the Player of the Match for the second time in the edition, expressed his satisfaction, saying, “I am very happy to win the Man of the Match again. I have been working hard this season. I almost got a hat-trick. I will keep trying – and hopefully, one day it will happen.” He credited the team effort, especially the crucial batting contributions from Rovman and Gurbaz.

Akeal Hosein, who initiated the Strikers’ bowling attack, recorded figures of 7/3, claiming vital wickets and contributing to the team’s success. Speaking after the match, Hosein revealed his focus on repeating his stellar performances from the previous season, emphasizing the importance of consistency in a demanding game.
Strikers, batting first, faced challenging conditions as Delhi Bulls opted to bowl. Despite the adversity, opener Rahmanullah Gurbaz showcased resilience, scoring an unbeaten 49 on a tricky track. Gurbaz’s performance was crucial in helping his side reach a competitive total of 98/4 in 10 overs.
Gurbaz, reflecting on his innings, stated, “I am happy to make a comeback. It was a good game for us, and the wicket was not the best. The boys did well. I don’t mind the fact whether I get a 50 or 100; I want to score for my team. That was the most important thing for me.”
