The RCB Innovation Lab’s Leaders Meet India, according to Mandhana, is a valuable platform to understand the intersection of sports and business, advocating for more frequent interactions between sports icons and business leaders. Reflecting on the growth of women’s sports in India, Smriti Mandhana highlighted the remarkable achievements of women athletes, calling for a separate focus on women’s sports to leverage commercial opportunities.
Addressing the future of women’s cricket, Mandhana emphasized grassroots investment, stating, “The only thing that we could invest in is the grassroots level of women’s sport in general because a lot of interest is developed with the Indian Women’s team or the WPL tournament. Invest more so that we get a lot more women cricketers.”
Mandhana drew inspiration from international women athletes, citing Alex Morgan in women’s FIFA and acknowledging Serena Williams’ monumental achievements in tennis as her sources of motivation.
