Umesh Yadav the flamboyant fast bowler of the Indian team got a T20I call after 5 long years. The performance of IPL 2022 helped him to again bag a place in the T20I team of the country. Yadav was renowned in the T20I for clinching wickets with the new ball instead of bowling efficiently in the death overs. He showed this ability in the season of IPL 2022, where he was a part of Kolkata Knight Riders. Although the team didn’t play as per their standards, Umesh Yadav was absolutely on fire till the last league stage match of the franchise.
From the past 6 years he was continuously playing for the Indian test team of the country. But finding it so hard to make a comeback in the limited overs format. The high arm action along with 90+ miles speed in the bowling was the USP for him till the start of his cricket career.

Now the BCCI gave him another chance to prove his dominance in the limited overs format. He might not get a chance in the first T20I where India would go with the faces of Jasprit Bumrah, Harshal Patel, Arshdeep Singh and Bhuvneshwar Kumar, but in the second or third T20I he will surely play for the team and also look to capitalise this valuable opportunity.
On the other hand, with this performance Umesh Yadav can even secure his place in the one-day international format where he could prove even more effective as per the Indian cricket experts. This happened with few players in the past but still hope is the biggest thing in the sport of cricket.
In the recent media release, BCCI official confirmed this by saying, “Fast bowler Mohd. Shami will not be able to take part in the upcoming three-day Mastercard T20I series against Australia after testing positive for COVID-19. The All-India Senior Selection Committee has named Umesh Yadav as his replacement”.
