The Pakistan cricket team engaged in a brief practice session at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad in preparation for their World Cup warm-up match against New Zealand, set to take place on Friday.
The team, which arrived in Hyderabad on Wednesday night, left the Park Hyatt hotel around 8 a.m. to head to the stadium and returned before noon. Stringent security measures were in place for the team’s travel and at the stadium to ensure their safety.
Given the massive Ganesh immersion procession scheduled to occur in the city during the day, the net practice session was wisely planned for the morning hours.

The Ganesh immersion procession is a grand event that essentially brings the city to a standstill. To maintain order and safety, more than 20,000 policemen were deployed to oversee the immersion process in and around Hyderabad.
Considering the upcoming Ganesh immersion and the Milad-un-Nabi procession scheduled for Sunday in the city, the city police have requested event organizers not to allow spectators into the stadium for the first warm-up match scheduled for Saturday.
Pakistan’s next warm-up match is slated against Australia on October 3. Following that, they have two World Cup matches here, facing Netherlands and Sri Lanka, before heading to Ahmedabad for the much-anticipated match against India on October 14.
