South Africa’s Luus and Kapp Shine Bright in Commanding ODI Victory Over Pakistan

South Africa Women’s cricket team secures a comprehensive 127-run victory over Pakistan in the 1st ODI, with Luus and Kapp scoring centuries.

In the 1st ODI, Sune Luus and Marizanne Kapp both smashed centuries, while Nadine de Klerk and Nonkululeko Mlaba shone with the ball, leading South Africa Women to a comprehensive 127-run victory over Pakistan Women on Friday.

South Africa’s remarkable all-round performance saw them posting a competitive total of 292/4 in their allotted 50 overs and then bundling out the host team for 165 runs in response, securing a commanding win in the first match of the three-game ODI series.

Interim captain Laura Wolvaardt set a positive tone by choosing to bat first after winning the toss, a decision that paid off handsomely. Despite a shaky start at 64/3 with Tazmin Brits (17), Wolvaardt (17), and Lara Goodall (15) back in the pavilion, the experienced duo of Luus and Kapp turned the game around.

Luus played a sublime unbeaten knock of 107 off 129 deliveries, featuring seven boundaries, while Kapp contributed a dynamic century, scoring 100 off 105 balls, including 12 fours and one six. Nadine de Klerk added valuable runs with her quickfire 29 not out off 23 balls.

In reply, Pakistan faced early setbacks as opener Shawaal Zulfiqar managed just 7 runs off 15 balls, and the experienced Bismah Maroof was dismissed for 10 runs by de Klerk. Pakistan found themselves struggling at 35/2 in the 10th over.

The wickets continued to tumble at regular intervals, with Aliya Riaz being the only standout performer for Pakistan, notching an unbeaten 49.

Summary of Scores:
