Indian Deaf Cricket Team Gears Up for DICC T20 World Cup 2023

The Indian Deaf Cricket Association (IDCA) has unveiled the final roster of players who will proudly represent India at the much-awaited Deaf International Cricket Council (DICC) T20 World Cup 2023.

Handpicked by the IDCA committee, a squad of 15 talented players is all set to take the field in the global championship scheduled to be hosted in Doha, Qatar, from December 1 to December 12, 2023. The leadership baton rests with Captain Virendra Singh, who aims to guide the team to victory and clinch the prestigious trophy.

Amidst the excitement, cricket enthusiasts will witness a fierce contest as eight nations vie for supremacy over 12 action-packed days and nights. The battle for the world champion title will unfold through 28 thrilling matches at the renowned Asian Town Cricket Stadium in Doha, Qatar.

Expressing his optimism, Sumit Jain, the President of IDCA, shared, “Our team is brimming with enthusiasm and readiness for the upcoming World Cup in Qatar. Having emerged victorious in the 2022 tournament, we are determined to script another triumph for India this time around.”

Jain extended his heartfelt gratitude to the supportive partners who have steadfastly championed the cause of promoting sports among specially-abled individuals. Their unwavering commitment stands as an inspiration for countless Indians to embrace sports and establish themselves. Jain expressed eagerness for a enduring partnership with these supporters.

Heading the selection committee was Dev Dutt, the Coach, alongside Ajay Kumar, the General Secretary of IDCA, and Manish Goel, the Treasurer of IDCA. Contributing to the decision-making process were Vinod Kumar Matta (Chief Selector), Ashok Kumar (Selector), and Manoj Singh (Selector).

The specially-abled Team India is geared up to put their best foot forward in the intense competition of DICC T20 World Cup 2023. The support for this endeavor comes from esteemed partners including KFC India, Hero MotoCorp, Serum Institute of India Pvt Ltd, Impact Research and Measurement, and Kaizzen, whose commitment to IDCA’s vision is unwavering.
