Cricket World Cup 2023: BCCI announces official ticket partner

The official ticketing partner for Cricket World Cup 2023 was announced by the BCCI. Here is a look at how to buy tickets for the World Cup.

There are only 42 days until the ICC Cricket World Cup in India in 2023. The Cricket World Cup, which will take place in 10 Indian cities from October 5 to November 19, will mark its 13th iteration. The official ticketing partner for the ODI World Cup has been revealed by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). BookMyShow is the Cricket World Cup’s official ticket partner. The top ticketing site in India for movies, music and comedy shows, sporting events and more is BookMyShow. On September 29, exhibition games will kick off the competition in Hyderabad, Trivandrum, and Guwahati.

The ICC previously demanded that customers who wanted to buy online tickets first register on the site. BCCI wants the booking procedure for supporters to be straightforward and thorough. The sale process for this prestigious tournament will be revealed in a series of meticulously timed steps. A 24-hour window designated just for ICC’s commercial partner ‘Mastercard’ is part of the initial phase. The competition will be contested over 52 days, which includes the warm-up games, before the main round, which will feature 10 qualified clubs, starts.

BCCI doesn’t want any more hiccups

The BCCI has previously been under criticism for altering the ODI World Cup schedule. One of the eight matches that was rescheduled was the much-awaited encounter between India and Pakistan, the two countries’ greatest rivals. There have recently been rumours that the Hyderabad Cricket Association also wants the dates changed. BCCI rejected the request, citing the difficulty in changing the schedule.

Hemang Amin, the interim CEO of BCCI, said upon the announcement of the ticketing partner, “As we approached the highly anticipated ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, a pinnacle event in this year’s international calendar, we were thrilled to unveil BookMyShow as the ticketing platform. The commencement of online ticket sales marks a pivotal moment in the lead-up to the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023. With unwavering confidence, we anticipate a seamless ticketing experience aimed at offering fans unobstructed access to the thrilling on-field encounters.” A total of 58 games will be played during the tournament, including 10 warm-up games and 48 main event games distributed over 12 venues.
