Biggest weaknesses of Asian teams, participating in T20 World Cup 2022

Asian teams will have a big upper hand in the upcoming tournament of T20 World Cup 2022 due to their ability of absorbing any kind of playing condition of the world. The prime teams of the continent like India, Pakistan and Afghanistan have the potential to beat any other team in the world. Though Australia will have greater chances of winning as they are playing on their home soil but except the world cup of 2015 Australia couldn’t win any big tournament or International fixture where more than two teams were involved in the past.

But the Asian sides have some major weaknesses which they have to cope up with before stepping into the T20 World Cup 2022, so it is mentioned below in detailed manner.

#1. India.

The Indian team has the biggest weakness which they have to work on and that is the out of form top order of the batting department. The Likes of Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul and Virat Kohli are seems to be facing worst days of their international cricket career and in the shorter format like T20Is, it is very necessary to get a good start from the top order batsmen otherwise further improvisation of the innings becomes very difficult.

#2. Pakistan.

Pakistan cricket team is on the verge of top notch form these days. Recently they registered their biggest victory in T20 cricket by a big margin of 155 runs against Hong Kong in the ongoing Asia Cup 2022. But before stepping into the T20 World Cup 2022 they have to solve one major concern of middle order batting form, which always shattered hopes of stamping a big score on the board for Pakistan. The young guys in the middle like Iftikhar Ahmed, Khushdil Shah and Shadab Khan slightly lack the ability to handle pressure situations when sudden wickets fall in the initial overs.

#3. Afghanistan.

Afghanistan has been gaining tremendously in T20 cricket from the last couple of years but still the lack of experience and inconsistent batting is the biggest problem when it comes to tournaments like T20 World Cup 2022. Their bowling has the capacity to defend totals of even below 130 but their batting line up couldn’t even chase 150 runs in the whole 20 overs of the game, in their last few International fixtures.

#4. Sri-Lanka.

Same problem which Afghanistan faced in the upcoming World T20, so it could be a similar scenario for the young Sri Lankan side. There are some aggressive names in the batting line up like Niroshan Dickwella, Avishkha Fernando and Bhanuka Rajapaksa but still when the quality bowling line up comes before then it’s not easy to stick with the operation all the time. Also in the bowling department their is the only name of Wanindu Hasaranga, which comes before the eyes except him another bowlers doesn’t have as such skill set like the other heavy weights in the tournament.

#5. Bangladesh.

Bangladesh is underdock side which can eliminate any team from the tournament on their given day, but that day usually comes once in a leap year. The concern for this team is totally different from the others. It seems like the new leadership of Shakib Al Hasan is not accepted by the other players and team management of the side, as the latest reactions after his take over manifest it clearly. This needs to be solved as soon as possible otherwise this team will surely become the weakest link of the T20 World Cup 2022.
