The ICC One-Day International World Cup 2023 is expected to begin in three months. The big event in India will begin on October 5, with ten teams competing for ultimate triumph.

The biggest cricket event in 12 years is returning to India. The anticipation is palpable, and thanks to a new model of ICC schedules, India will play at least nine matches in the World Cup, with the possibility of 11 if India advances to the final.

In the group stages, India will play matches in Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Dharamshala, Lucknow, and Pune. On October 15, Ahmedabad will also host the crucial India-Pakistan match.

Hotel charges have already risen in Ahmedabad, where the tariff for the selected dates has been fourfolded at certain places.

In the midst of this, global hospitality business OYO, which owns hotel chains in the bulk of Indian cities, has said that it will add up to 500 hotels across numerous World Cup host cities ahead of the tournament.

OYO plans to integrate a number of hotels over the next three months to meet the increased demand for tickets and lodging ahead of the worldwide event.

“When the dates for a marquee cricket tournament are announced, travel demand automatically rises–such is the magic and power of this sport that brings millions together.” “We want to make sure that everyone who travels from afar to watch their favorite teams has access to comfortable and affordable lodging,” an OYO spokeswoman told Business Standard.

This year’s World Cup in India will feature ten teams competing for triumph. The teams who automatically qualified were India, Pakistan, England, Australia, New Zealand, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and South Africa, while Sri Lanka and the Netherlands joined them after qualifying through the qualifiers.
