India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Australia, England, New Zealand, and South Africa all qualified for the competition based on their standings in the Cricket World Cup Super League.

This will be India’s fourth time hosting the ODI World Cup, however it will be the first time as a sole host, having previously hosted the tournament with neighbors Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh.
