“Most Important Cog in the Wheel”: Ravi Shastri pointed out this player as a key for India in T20 World Cup 2022

The former Indian head coach Ravi Shastri elucidated the importance of Hardik Pandya in this upcoming T20 World Cup 2022. Hardik Pandya was not a member of the Indian team in the previous edition of the T20 World Cup, which could be one of the reasons behind India’s poor performance in the whole tournament, as per Shastri.

The Indian all rounder Hardik Pandya is in a brilliant touch since he came back into the Indian team, this is the most important thing for the Indian team, as the bowling all rounder has a different kind of advantage on the Australian pitches

So while Ravi Shastri was speaking to Star Sports he delineated Hardik Pandya as the most important cog in the wheel of Indian team. His rest of the opinion is given below.

Shastri said, “He (Pandya) is one of the most important cogs in the wheel as far as India is concerned,” Shastri said. “You take him out of the squad and the balance goes away. That’s how important he is. You don’t know whether to play an extra batsman or an extra bowler.”

Later he mentioned, “We missed him really badly last year in the (T20) World Cup when he couldn’t bowl. It makes a massive difference. There is no one close to him when it comes to the quality that he possesses at that number. I think he is an extremely important player and has to be watched very closely. With the number of matches coming up, he is the last person you want to play in all those matches”.
