
The former Pakistan captain and legendary fast bowler Wasim Akram shared the memories of his Golden days when the Pakistan team firstly visited India in the year 1987, the tour was also memorable for the side of Pakistan as they performed brilliantly against the strong team of India.
As the India and Pakistan rivalry is again going to happen in the upcoming tournament of Asia Cup 2022, the Star sport which is the official broadcaster for the whole tournament in India, shared a short clip in which Wasim Akram recalled the memories of the first’ tour with Kapil Dev, who was the captain of India at that time.
Below given is the complete bureau of the talk which happened between Wasim Akram and Kapil Dev the two captains at the first tour of Pakistan to India. Wasim Akram said in the talk, “I will talk about the 1987 tour because I was very excited as I was going to India for the first time and there was so much craze about India in Pakistan at that time. Before the first Test in Chennai, me and Ijaz (Ahmed) saw a Film magazine, I am forgetting the name of the magazine, and it had photographs of Anil Kapoor in it”.
Later Akram added, “Both of us bought similar classes and shirts and then went to the beach in Chennai and took photos. We had kept cameras with us as we were travelling to India for the first time. I bowled on the Chennai track and although it was white and flat, there was good bounce on the track”.
