3 RCB Players Who Could Be Released After IPL 2025

Check out the 3 RCB Players Who Could Be Released After IPL 2025 , one of them is a foreign star with whopping amount of INR 8.75 Cr.

3 RCB Players Who Could Be Released After IPL 2025: The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have been performing robustly in IPL 2025, being second on the points table with 16 points from their first 11 games. There are three league games left, one of which will guarantee a playoff spot, and two more would give them a top-two position.

This year, RCB have performed well in away matches, winning all six of them, and bowling has finally clicked for them, a department where they struggled earlier.

Their IPL 2025 mega auction strategy has worked mostly to their advantage. But not all recruitments have been as successful. As the season draws near its end, RCB may have some players in mind that they can release before the next auction. These four are among them.

Liam Livingstone was RCB’s largest bet in the 2025 auction, purchased for INR 8.75 crore. The English all-rounder has not made a difference despite his tag, though, not managing to score more than 87 runs in six matches or secure two wickets.

Following a string of sub-standard performances, he was removed from the playing XI and was replaced by Romario Shepherd. It is not an isolated dip; Livingstone’s performances have been declining ever since his brilliant 2022 season. With a steep price and low yield, RCB might decide to let him go and look for a more reliable overseas player in the IPL 2026 mini auction.

  1. Mayank Agarwal – Short-Term Stand-In Without Long-Term Horizon

: Mayank Agarwal

Signed as the injury replacement for Devdutt Padikkal, who was out for the season, Mayank Agarwal signed with RCB after remaining unsold during the IPL 2025 mega auction.

Although he may play the remaining games, his position in the team appears temporary. Padikkal had played well before the injury and will regain his place next season. Considering that, RCB may release Mayank Agarwal before IPL 2026 and seek young talent or hold onto current bench depth.

  1. Rasikh Salam Dar – High Investment, Low Impact

Rasikh Dar was one such shock selection at INR 6 crore based on his death bowling skillset from his previous stint with Delhi Capitals. But the pacer has played just two games this season and has gone for runs at an economy of 11.66.

With established performers such as Josh Hazlewood, Yash Dayal, and Bhuvneshwar Kumar available in the team, Rasikh struggles to find a place in the playing XI. Given his price and minimal impact, RCB will most probably release him before the upcoming season to save money on a more cost-effective pace option.
