Exact 1000 days have been completed since Indian superstar cricketer Virat Kohli has smashed a century in international cricket, last time Kohli made a majestic ton against Bangladesh in the month of November 2019. Since then his dark phase with the bat has started and he is unable to score in three figures in any format of the game since then.
This is the longest running century drought of Virat Kohli, in the global sphere before this, in the year 2014 he has experienced such a bad form with the bat since then he came across it after 5 years in 2019. The talented cricketers of the world cricket like Sachin Tendulkar, Ricky Ponting and Kevin Pietersen have also experienced such lags in their momentum but Kohli’s lean patch is not looking to end.
In the last couple of series which he played against England and Sri Lanka his concern with the batting form even got worse instead of showing some resilience in the course. This is not a good thing for him as well as for the Indian team as the mega tournaments like Asia Cup and T20 World Cup are on the way.
The reason is, Virat Kohli is the most consistent batsman in the whole Indian batting line up even the stallwards like Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul are far behind him in the context of making runs continuously. Hope that his poor sailing with the bat will end very soon and he will get back into his old touch.
